Rick RichbourgRick ‘Chocolate’ Richbourg; Guitars and Vocals
Rick Richbourg, nicknamed “Chocolate” by the band’s vocalist Norm, has been performing, writing and recording since his earliest days in music. Currently playing both Lead and Rhythm Guitar in the ‘Old School funk band ‘Groove Therapy’, Rick also teaches guitar and music at the Orlando Community School of the Arts.

In addition, Rick offers private lessons for guitar and music theory in his own teaching studio. Furthermore, Rick plays guitar in several Praise and Worship bands around the Orlando Christian community.

Rick was born in Pensacola, Florida and grew playing guitar along the Florida Gulf Coast, including local hot-spots on the beach, juke joints in Mississippi and night clubs in the famed New Orleans French Quarter.
Rick was a member of the Woodham High School marching band playing snare drum, tom-toms, and playing all of the percussion that had notes (tympani, tubular bells, marimba, bells). Rick also played guitar in the award winning Woodham Jazz ensemble. From there, Rick briefly attend Pensacola Junior College where he studied with Dr. Robert Whitmore who urged Rick to transfer to either North Texas State, University of Miami or Boston’s Berklee College of Music. Rick is a graduate of Berklee College of Music earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition.
Rick has played guitar in local, regional and national acts, international symphonic orchestras and a release from his 2001 Album ‘Life is for the Living’ spent 4 weeks as the number one tune on Jazz Tune at SoundClicks.com.

Leroy-McClendonLeroy McClendon; Keyboard, Saxophone and Vocals
Leroy McClendon is a native of Sanford, Florida. He began playing piano at the age of 9 years and began taking saxophone lessons at the age of 13. Upon graduating high school, Leroy earned a music scholarship to the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

From the mid-1970s to early 1980s, Leroy played keyboards and saxophone with “Society” a local Central Florida R&B band that took second place at the Apollo in 1975.

In the mid-1980s, Leroy extended his musical talent into producing and engineering. He worked as recording engineer and producer for Q&R Studios when it opened in Orlando, Florida, in 1983. In the mid 1990s, Leroy served as a recording engineer for music manager Johnny Wright, recording such artists as the Backstreet Boys, Aaron Carter, and 95 South.

He is the founder of Billy Boy Productions in Lake Mary, Florida, where he produces music for area vocalists, his original compositions and voiceovers for local businesses.

Hailing from Hampton/Newport News, Virginia with over 30 years experience in all types of music.

Joey has performed in Plays, (Wait ‘til the Fat Lady Sings, Amen Corner), Beauty Pageants, (Miss Norfolk State University), Festivals,  (Town Point Jazz Festival, Stockley Gardens Art Festival, Ghent Art Festival, Bay Days, Af’ram Fest, Umoja Festival, Chesapeake Jubilee, Suffolk Balloon Festival, Suffolk Peanut Festival, Pork, Peanut and Pine Festival, Winter Park Arts Festival, Kissimmee R&B Festival, WMNF Blues Blast, Zora Neale Hurston Festival) and hundreds of clubs, conventions, private parties, wedding receptions and military functions. I have worked such venues as: Hampton Coliseum, Norfolk Scope, VA Beach Convention Center, 24th Street Stage VA Beach, Richmond Coliseum, Cranes Roost Park, Orange County Convention Center, The Rosen Centre, The Peabody, Citrus Bowl, and many others.

Joey has also worked with various types of groups to include: Blues groups, (Hampton Roads Blues All Stars, Abingdon All Stars, and Cloudy Dayz, The Walker Smith Group, Al (Coffee) McDaniel, Ike and Val Woods, and Beautiful Bobby Blackmon & the B3 Band) Jazz groups, (Last Exit, Essence, 3-D, Against All Odds, As One, Kaat’n, Peaches & Company, Point Blank, The Jacqueline Jones Band, The Dr. Otto Band, Billy Hall & Friends, Ray LeSonn and Mixed Bag, The Erly Thornton Group, Road Dog Horns, and Street Level Jazz) Gospel groups (Swan, and The Chosen), Rock Bands, (Reminisce, Scott Yvonne and Unison), Top 40 and Variety groups (Swan, Showcase, R&B All Stars, The Showmen, The Squares, Gator Allmond & the Spice of Life Band, Midnight Love, Carlene Mitchell & Fusion, The Knightwalker Band, SoulXpressions, TAABOO, Jukebox, Derrick Hadley and The Motowners, Tenacity, Off Glass and the Last Band, Wanda “Star” Williams and the Starlets, Ricky Williams Trio, Approaching Storm and Groove Therapy). I have also performed with National Recording Artists Rudy West, Miles Jaye and The Flamingos.

Bass Guitar

reggiewilsonReggie Wilson; Bass Guitar
Reggie Wilson, native of Baltimore, Md., is a progressive, forward thinking, dynamic musician/bass player with over 40 years of playing experience.

He attended Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore, and enrolled in the “Music Careers” Curriculum in 1971 under the tutelage of Dr. Thomas DeLaine and Dr. Reppard Stone. During this period, he attended the Peabody Conservatory Prep School.

After graduating from High School, Reggie enlisted in the U.S. Army and passed the audition to serve as a U.S. Army Bandsman for the 392nd Army Band. Reggie has served in the army band system for over 35 years, with some breaks in service. He was the NCO in charge of the 229th Army Band Jazz Ensemble from 2001-2013. He attended Morgan State University and majored in music, under the direction of Dr. Melvin Miles Jr.

Reggie Wilson is experienced in all genres of music with emphasis on R&B, Gospel, and Jazz. Reggie has also served as an instructor at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute in the mid 90’s. He has performed since the late 70’s with a variety of bands and ensembles. Reggie has also shared the stage with recording artists including “ODESSY” (Native New Yorker), Grammy nominee Richard Smallwood, Jacob Lusk (American Idol runner up), Dennis Chambers, George Gray, Skip Dorsey, Greg Hatza, Jake Sheffer, Ronny Smith, Lee Pearson, Larry Bright, Sir Walter Jackson, Herb Kenny (of the original Ink Spots), as well as other top local artists. He has composed for Atlantic/Cotillion Records for international R&B Grammy Award winning recording artists “Slave” on their “Just a Touch of Love” Album.

After retiring in 2010 from a 27 year career with the Baltimore County Police Department as well as the military with over 20 years of honorable service in 2014, Reggie performs around the Baltimore/Washington area with local Jazz, R&B, and Gospel artists. In May of 2016, Reggie relocated to the Orlando area, and is currently playing with local artists in central Florida.

Norman a Vocalist’s vocalist, bon vivant and ‘Classic Crooner’ of love songs, is the the man who puts the Fun in Funky every-night!

While his vast abilities allow him to be equally comfortable singing Blues, Soul R & B and Rock, Norm emotes passion in his songs that exhibit an keen understanding of the human condition. They are not just songs, they are the fabric of life.

Norman is always keen to create a visceral connection with the audience that transcends the typical performer/listener relationship allowing them to become participants rather than just on the side observers!
